Introduction

Dr. Gautam Khaund is a distinguished ENT specialist with over three decades of experience in diagnosing and treating ear, nose, and throat disorders. He serves as the Chief ENT Consultant at Nightingale Hospital, Guwahati.

Dr. Khaund holds an MS in ENT and has undergone advanced training in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and laser procedures at renowned institutions, including KKR ENT Hospital in Chennai and Tyrone County Hospital in Omagh, UK. His clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of ENT conditions, with special interests in microscopic ear surgery, sinus disorders, sleep-related breathing issues, and voice and swallowing disorders.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Khaund is actively involved in medical education and research. He has served as the editor of the Annual Journal of the North-Eastern Branch of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India (NEBAOI).

Dr. Khaund has held various leadership positions across organisations. He was the President of the Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (IAOHNS) in 2021-2022 and currently is a Member Board of Governors of IAOHNS. Currently he is also the Vice President of Association of Phono Surgeons of India (APSI).

Dr. Khaund’s contributions to the field have been recognized with several awards, including the S. Kumar’s Gold Medal and the Swami Vivekananda Gold Medal for his research presentations. His commitment to patient care, education, and innovation makes him one of the most respected ENT specialists in Northeast India.
